Congratulations Meredith Hartigan
5th of November 2014
Meredith Hartigan, a Development Assessment Planner in the Central Development Team, has been awarded the 2013 Queensland State Conference Young Planner Scholarship (sponsored by the Wendy Chadwick Memorial Trust and the Queensland Young Planners Division of the Planning Institute of Australia).
The scholarship is a financial package to support attendance at the 2013 Queensland Planning Institute of Australia Conference in Mackay from 6-8 November 2013, covering registration, airfares and accommodation.
Meredith was awarded the scholarship after submitting an excellent paper addressing why she decided to study planning, and why she wanted to attend the 2013 Queensland State Conference. In her submission, Meredith wrote that deciding to study planning is something you start once you have decided to attend university and never stop doing throughout your career. She was keen to attend the conference to gain opportunities for professional networking and to learn more about aspects of planning given the wide range of topics to be covered over the 2 days.
As a condition of being awarded the scholarship, Meredith is required to provide an article about her conference experience, which will be included in Queensland Planner.
